Rudi "kneedt" zich in zijn materiaal binnen. Met zijn sterk persoonlijke lastechniek dwingt hij elk metaal dat hem in handen valt tot de meest verassende, doch altijd sterk aansprekende vormen . Zijn werken zijn raadselachtige en sterk-sensuele getuigen van het innerlijke gevecht dat de kunstenaar traag maar zeker opvreet : de strijd tussen de ongeremde opstandeling en levensgenieter , ende verantwoordelijke mens die noodgedwongen in het maatschappelijk gareel moet lopen. Die botsing , die doorlopend diep in hem plaatsheeft , resulteert in een niets ontziende , drijvende kracht die samen met het gedegen vakmanschap van de kunstenaar altijd weer opnieuw uitmondt in een kunstwerk met grootse allures.

Rudi se pétrit lui-méme , tant pétrit sa matière. Il se distingue par une technique de soudage très personnelle . De tout métal qui lui tombe sous la main , nait une forme suprenate , mais toujours attachante . Ses oeuvres sont des témoins sensuels et mystérieux du combat intérieur qui le dévore lentement mais sùrement : tension entre le bon vivant réactionnaire sans frein qu'il est et étre responsable qui se débat dans le carcan contraignant de notre sociéte. L'oppostion permanente qui se manifeste entre ces deux personnalités libère sans cesse une force que rien n'arréte. Cette force, flanquée d'une parfaite connaissance du métier , lui permet de créer une oeuvre chaque fois de la meilleure allure .

Rudi "kneads" himself into his material . With his strongly personal welding technique , he forces each piece of metal that comes his way, into the most astonishing but always significant forms . His works are enigmatic and highly sensual witnesses of the inner battle that slowly consumes the artist : the struggle between the rebel , enjoying life without restraint , and the responsible person whom society keeps in check. This continuous collision between these two tendencies results in an unsparring driving force , achieving eache time again , in conjunction with the artist's thorough technical skill , grand work of art .
